Avocado Clean FifteenInterested in eliminating the poisons from your diet? Take a moment to investigate these famous lists: the 2018 Dirty Dozen and the 2018 Clean Fifteen.  They refer to the NON-organic foods on your grocery list. The Dirty Dozen lists the 12 most heavily pesticide and toxin laden foods on the market. And the Clean Fifteen lists the cleanest of the non-organic selections.

All foods were tested by the non-profit, non-partisan Environmental Working Group. About 39,000 samples were used and analyzed. For instance, they found that one third of all strawberry samples contained 10 or more pesticides which earned it the top spot on the Dirty Dozen list.

Do yourself and those you love a favor and avoid the worst of the worst polluted foods. You can also opt to shop the Organic section in your market or seek out local growers who don’t use pesticides or herbicides on their crops especially for the foods on this list.

The Clean Fifteen are the opposite. These foods contained the least pesticide residues and are considered to be safest of the non-organic selections. For example, out of 36 avocados tested, only one tested positive for one pesticide.
