Spring and summer bring us warmer weather, but it also brings many people the dreaded seasonal allergies. Airborne substances like pollen, create inconvenient symptoms that can make us miserable. Sneezing? Congestion? Runny nose? Try these simple strategies to help alleviate and get your seasonal allergies under control.

Eliminating Stress

Allergies can become stressful, but stress can worsen your allergies. Dealing with an abundance of stress may be the root to what’s enhancing your allergy symptoms. But, don’t stress… There are tricks to reducing the amount of stress in your life.

Try exercising, meditation, or even setting a daily schedule to eliminate some of the unknown in your day.

Explore Natural Remedies

Good News! If you haven’t, you can try natural remedies to get a handle on your allergy symptoms. Avoiding allergens is a great goal, however, this is not always possible. If you find yourself suffering from symptoms try using honey, air filters, spirulina, and peppermint oils.

Honey is best if used in warm water with lemon and can help to lower your reactions over time.

Detox The Body

Removing toxins from your body can help to re-establish balance from within. Eliminating alcohol, sugar, and fried foods from your diet can aid in removing these toxins. Try to implement whole, natural foods into your daily diet. No one food can completely cure your allergies, but they can calm your immune system. Add any of the following foods to your grocery cart – they may help to alleviate your symptoms:

  • Salmon  (and other oily fish)
  • Tomatoes
  • Onions
  • Ginger
  • Citrus Fruits
  • Bee Pollen
  • Turmeric

Take Supplements

Taking supplements on a daily basis is an easy way to help alleviate seasonal allergies. Vitamin C and D supplements give your body the immune boost it needs to fight off those pesky symptoms.

Don’t let your allergies get the best of you this summer. Take control of your immune system by eliminating stress, using natural remedies, detoxing, and adding supplements to your routine.
